Homeless Education Assistance Act

If you lose your home, you do not have to lose your school.

Assistance is available for Blissfield Public School families with school age children living the following situations:

  • in a shelter or a motel
  • doubled up with friends or relatives because you cannot find or afford housing
  • living in campgrounds, cars, or other outside places.

The McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act gives your child the right to:

  • Continue in the school they attended before you became homeless.
  • Transportation assistance can be provided.
  • School supplies, clothing, free breakfast and lunch.
  • Receive information for other support services.
