![]() Blissfield Elementary School has developed curriculum in the core content areas of mathematics, language arts, science, social studies, and the arts. Our content area programs are reviewed on a regular basis and they have been approved by the Blissfield Community Schools Board of Education. Over the past few years, all staff members have been involved in the process of aligning the curriculum with the Michigan Department of Education Curriculum Framework Standards, Benchmarks and Content Expectations. At the present time, all academic areas are fully aligned. We also have our music, visual arts, physical education and technology programs fully aligned with the current state standards. The Michigan Department of Education Content Expectations Guides for Parents can be accessed from the following website: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/Form_B_Intro_138683_7.pdf The Michigan Department of Education conducts an Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) evaluation, testing/measuring schools in the ares of academic achievement, participation in state assessments (MEAP for grades 3-5), and student attendance. Blissfield Elementary School not only achieved Annual Yearly Progress for 2010-2011, but the school also earned a composite grade of "A." This is the fourth consecutive year a grade of "A" was earned. Our students and staff members are very proud of this accomplishment and it reflects our commitment to excellence. |
