One of our Elementary School improvement goals was to improve writing skills across the curriculum. Our data collected over the last five years indicates that this has been accomplished through interventions and professional development. Students and teachers alike have become more effective as writers and as evaluators of wiring. As a result of working of this writing goal, teachers and students have raised their expectations and have an increased confidence as authors. Realizing that writing develops through an on-going process, the Blissfield Elementary staff is committed to continuing our efforts to further improve the joy and proficiency of student writers. The Blissfield Elementary 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students wrote about animals they observed in the Blissfield Environmental Life Lab. The following animals are some that are found within the BELL and the articles written were published and highlighted weekly in our local newspaper, The Blissfield Advance.
