Parent Partners

Parent Partners

As part of our district’s continuous school improvement process, we have an active parent committee (similar committees exist at both the middle school and high school). At the elementary school, we are calling this group, Parent Partners.  The purpose of this committee is to meet quarterly to discuss with the principal issues surrounding Blissfield Elementary School.  Mrs. Crane will provide updates as to what is happening at school, address questions and issues that were brought up at previous meetings, and will allow ample opportunities for questions, comments and suggestions.  By meeting together once a marking period, our Parent Partners will learn more about how the school operates and what our children are expected to know and learn.  This group will provide Mrs. Crane with new perspectives and insights that will be beneficial, especially as we continuously strive for school improvement and academic excellence.  Lastly, this group will take the information learned from their meetings out into the community; sharing with other parents and community members information that is accurate and positive.

The 2011-2012 Blissfield Elementary School Parent Partners committee is made up of 12 members.  These parents were chosen through the following process:  they either checked the line in the volunteer survey requesting to be on a parent advisory committee or they were recommended by teachers and community members (we had many more volunteers/nominees than we could accommodate – a nice testimony to the willingness of parents to serve our school and students!).

Our 2011-2012 Parent Partners are:  Jerry and Michelle Bates, Sara Brown, Anne Goodman, Deb Jacobs, Steve Kelly and Michele Caudill, Jami Kleparek, Emilie Mullins, Shelley and Rick Schnoor, and Tani Wright.

This year's meetings will take place on November 14, January 23, March 26, and May 14 (all meetings take place from 7:00-8:00 p.m.).

If you have any question you would like our group to answer, issues you would like addressed, or information you would like clarified, please feel free to contact any of the members or our Principal, Dee Crane.
