Adopt-A-Soldier Program
September 17, 2008 was Constitution Day! As part of this year's observance, each grade level was introduced to an area serviceman serving overseas. The children didn't actually meet the serviceman, but instead they were given his name and camp address. As an elementary school, we adopted six servicemen, one for each grade level. Throughout the course of the school year, our students will be sending letters and packages to their servicemen. In October, grade levels sent their servicemen letters introducing themselves and telling them that they had been adopted by our students and school. In November, Christmas boxes filled with goodies were sent. As the year progresses, more letters and care boxes will be sent. We are REALLY hoping that we will receive letters back from our servicemen!
