Social Studies

Mrs. Reinhardt will working with Social Studies this year.  Check out her webpage for activities they are doing. They will be working with various US History Units throughout the year. Parents check her webpage often to see what was happening during different months.  As we studied the various units, we will interweave Core Democratic Values throughout the year using various means.  We will begin each day for the first five minutes, by saying the “Pledge of Allegiance” and discussing what we are pledging when we say the Allegiance.  We talk about our freedom costing Americans something as freedom isn’t free.  Since 1776 many lives have been sacrificed  for our freedom that we so richly enjoy today.  We also discuss patriotism, equality, common good, individual rights, popular sovereignty, diversity, justice and truth.  Throughout the second half of the year after saying the pledge, we will discuss the “Star Spangled Banner” as part of our Core Democratic Values and we learn the presidents of the United States
