Well, hopefully your inner compass was working or you learned how to find your directions by making observations.  During the month of September we work with finding directions and map skills.  Students are asked to learn this little ditty:

I face the north where the north wind blows,

Behind me is south where comes no snow.

To the right is east the suns morning face,

To the left is west the suns setting down place.
