![]() ALGEBRA PREP EXPECTATIONS Attendance – We will adhere to the school policies on absences and tardiness. You need to be in your assigned seat with all the materials you need when class begins or you may be marked tardy. Classroom Behavior – You can do anything you want to in this class, provided it does not cause a problem for anyone else…and yes, that includes me! Homework – You will not have formal homework in this class!!! You will, however, be required to do the following: · Complete daily warm-ups · Participate in ALL class activities · Work diligently during class · Conference with me about what problems/successes you are having · Be responsible for knowing your Algebra grade · Keep a 3 ring binder with dividers for warm-ups, notes/examples, homework, and quizzes · Be an advocate for yourself · Successfully pass Algebra I!!! Quizzes and Tests – I will give homework quizzes throughout the semester to see how everyone is doing. You will not have tests in this class but you will review and retake your Algebra I tests in this class if necessary. Grading Scale – Grades are weighted as follows: Participation – 20% Warm-ups/Homework quizzes – 40% Portfolio – 30% Home Access Print off’s – 10% A 93 - 100 C+ 77 - 79 F 59 or below A- 90 - 92 C 73 - 76 B+ 87 - 89 C- 70 - 72 B 83 - 86 D+ 67 - 69 B- 80 - 82 D 63 - 66 D- 60 - 62 Required Materials – Textbook– McDougal Littell Algebra I: Michigan Edition – MUST be covered Paper/Pencils – Please don’t ask me for a pencil or paper! Notebook/Folder – You will need to keep organized class notes Scientific Calculator – Preferably a Texas Instruments TI-30XIIS (cost is around $15) ***Please note that calculators WILL NOT be provided for you. Other Things You Should Know… · You will see a warm-up or some type of directions each day you enter the classroom. You should be in your seat working on the task when the bell rings. · You must bring all materials needed for class to class each day. · You need to use the time between classes effectively as hall/bathroom passes will be given out minimally. · Upcoming tests, projects, etc. for your Algebra I course will be posted in the classroom for you to view. · Remain in your seats until the bell rings for you to be dismissed. · SEE ME in VIP and during class to ask any questions if you are still struggling with any of the Algebra I material. I am here so that you can get extra help. If you ask for help, I will make sure you get it, but you MUST be an advocate for yourself! |
