![]() Geometry ExpectationsAttendance – We will adhere to the school policies on absences and tardiness. You need to be in your assigned seat with all the materials you need when class begins or you may be marked tardy. Classroom Behavior – You can do anything you want to in this class, provided it does not cause a problem for anyone else…and yes, that includes me! Homework –Homework will be graded in one of two ways: by accuracy or by completion. You must show all of your work on the homework to get full credit. All homework must be labeled with your name, date, hour, lesson section, page number, and problems assigned in the upper right hand corner of the page. Late Work – I will accept late work through the end of each marking period. However, you can only earn up to 60% on any late homework assignment. It is your responsibility to find out what you missed out on if you are absent. All class assignments will be posted in the classroom for you to view. Quizzes and Tests – Quizzes will be given throughout the semester as I see fit. Tests will be given at the end of each chapter, or where I see fit throughout the semester. You must pass every chapter test in order to earn credit. If you fail a test you will be required to remediate and pass a retake. You can only earn up to 60% on any retake. Projects – You will have projects throughout the year as I see fit. Each project will come with a rubric so you know what I am expecting of you and how you will be graded. Grading Scale – Grades are weighted as follows… Tests – 60% Homework/Quizzes – 20% Cumulative Review Assignments – 20% (assigned every Monday and due every Friday) A 93 - 100 C+ 77 - 79 F 59 or below A- 90 - 92 C 73 - 76 B+ 87 - 89 C- 70 - 72 Exams are weighted 20% of your semester grade. B 83 - 86 D+ 67 - 69 B- 80 - 82 D 63 - 66 D- 60 - 62 Required Materials – Textbook– McDougal Littell Geometry: Michigan Edition – MUST be covered Paper/Pencils – Please don’t ask me for a pencil or paper! Notebook/Folder – You will need to keep organized class notes Scientific Calculator – Preferably a Texas Instruments TI-30XIIS (cost is around $15) ***Please note that calculators WILL NOT be provided for you. Other Things You Should Know… · You will see a warm-up or some type of directions each day you enter the classroom. You should be in your seat working on the task when the bell rings. · You must bring all materials needed for class to class each day. · You need to use the time between classes effectively as hall/bathroom passes will be given out minimally. · Assignments will always be posted in the classroom. You are responsible for making up assignments or getting materials you need if you are absent. This includes coming to see me if you missed a quiz or test. · Upcoming tests, projects, etc. will also always be posted in the classroom. · You will have one day for each day you are absent to make up missed work. Absent work needs to be labeled ABSENT at the top of the paper and turned into the Absent Homework folder. · DRIVE/Homework Academy will be in effect for all freshmen students. Late work needs to be labeled LATE at the top of the paper and turned into the Late Homework folder. · Remain in your seats until the bell rings for you to be dismissed. · See me in VIP and during class to ask questions if you are struggling with any of the Geometry material. If you ask for help, I will make sure you get it, but you MUST be an advocate for yourself! |
