Mr. Grasley's Real Writers' page...

Week of February 8th through 12th, 2010

6th Grade English Calendar

  • Assignments may be changed, as needed.  I will do my best to repost changes.
  • Don’t forget that sixth grader writers need a three-ring notebook and a spiral/composition notebook.
  • Grammar Rocks proofreading begins again this week.  Two sentences proofread each day.

Monday

… Grammar Rocks 16 (counting down)  is finished and checked in today….  We go to the library, return/check out books. We might want to finish our 100 cold weather details, too.  They are due today!  Some of us could print our Portfolio, First Writing, and Best Writing from Criterion (due Friday).  Cold weather stories could also be worked on…
Tuesday  Grammar Rocks 15 (counting down) continues.  We start to correct paragraphs.  Work on storyboarding our Cold Weather Story begins… We can also draft our Cold Weather Story and consider what pictures we will use.
WednesdayA day to work on our ideas for our cold weather story.  Perhaps, we can draft, finish up details, or consider what a technology piece might look like…  We will be in the computer lab on Criterion, OR, if completed, working on our photostory picture gathering.
ThursdayCold weather writing and reading continues as we plan our first cold weather experience story…  A time to consider the Book Fair, too as we hear from real authors.  In addition, we will continue our own cold weather ideas with our first viewing of the Dick Pronnecke, Alaska videos.
Friday   A really in depth writer’s experience as we, for the first time, consider our cold weather details, honestly begin to write our rough draft, or perhaps, even work on Criterion in telling our best cold weather story.
