What materials are required for this class?

·        Writing Utensil- you may use pen or pencil in this class

·        Notebook and Folder – OR – Binder with folder pockets and paper

·        Book cover (or bring in a paper grocery bag and I will show you how to cover your book)

Classroom Rules

 #1– Students will be prepared before the bell rings and stay on task the whole class period. 

#2– Students will be able to learn in a safe and welcoming environment. 

#3– Students will have respect for themselves, the teacher, other students, and the property in the classroom. 

We will be discussing, as a class, acceptable and unacceptable behaviors foreach of these rules.  We will also cover possible consequences and rewards for these rules.    

Other important things to know: 

  • School rule:  no food or drink in the classroom
  • School rule:  NO electronic devices (cell phones, ipods, mp3’s, cameras, etc.)
  • Restroom- 1 pass per nine weeks
    • Any more count against participation
  • VIP- WORK TIME!
    • Only my students
    • Sign up before VIP
  • Cheating = 0
  • Exams- cumulative final worth 20% of semester grade
  • Tardies and Absences- I follow the school’s tardy and absence policy.
  • Grades?  You have an A right now….. it is your job to keep it!
    • Based on a point system from homework, quizzes, tests, projects, and participation
  • Homework- you will have homework, as well as projects for this class
    • All homework must be completed for full credit
    • If I, or any other teacher, catch you copying someone else’s homework, both will get zeros for the first offense, and more serious consequences for other offenses
  • I am willing to coming in before and after school, as well as VIP, if you need help with any topics we are covering
  • You will be doing reading and writing as a required part of this class.

  • Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs
  • Safety
  • Social and Emotional Health
  • Personal Health and Wellness
  • HIV Prevention
  • Sexuality Education

 Parent /Teacher communication is important- please contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns regarding your student! Parents and students, when you have read and understand these papers, please sign below and have your student return this bottom portion to school for their first homework grade.
