"Alas for those that never sing, but die with all their music in them!" -- Oliver Wendell Holmes Eighth Grade choir is a year-long class for students who want to improve their vocal skills through participation in a performance-based class. Through daily rehearsal, students will learn the following: - Vocal Technique: Students will become more proficient singers who utilize proper posture and technique to improve sound and prevent injury. They will learn to sing independently as well as in an ensemble. Ensemble singing will be in two- and three-part harmonies.
- Reading Music: Students will learn to read musical notation and to understand musical terminolgy.
- Sight-reading: Students will learn how to read music at first sight using standard solfege syllables.
- Theory: Students will study basic music theory.

- Middle School Fine Arts Night Featuring the Blissfield Choirs and Sixth Grade Band, as well as the artwork of the students of Rob Stranges: Tuesday, May 4th, 2010 at 7:00 PM on the Blissfield Middle School Stage.
