Transportation Blissfield Schools provides transportation services tailored to the needs of students at different grade levels and with varying requirements. Students residing in distant areas, including school of choice students, are eligible for transportation services with some requiring designated pick-up/drop-off sites. Bus Transportation is also provided to our Tech Center students daily. Please fill out the request form below with any transportation needs you may have. Counseling Services we provide: Academic advising, including course selection and scheduling Information about grades and transcripts Information about careers Information about colleges, universities, technical schools, and the military Information about academic testing Information about financial aid and scholarships PERSONAL COUNSELING Referral form Release of information form Please note, information given to the school counselor is strictly confidential unless student safety is at issue. FAMILIES IN TRANSITION Assistance is available for Blissfield Community School families with school age children living in the following situations: Living in shelters Living in motels Doubled up with family or friends due to lack of housing or income Living in campgrounds, cars, or other outside places. Blissfield Community Schools can help: Enroll in school without the normal records required. The School Liaison will help you locate lost records or get them from a previous school. You can enroll immediately while records are being located. School of Origin can be maintained. This means that if you are in any of the above living situations, your child can stay in the school he or she attended before your living situation changed. We want to help you keep your child in one school for one year, if you choose. Remember, if you lose your home, you don’t have to lose your school. Transportation can be provided. Students in all of the above situations have the right to be transported to and from school. School Supplies, clothes, free breakfast and lunch are also available when you live in the above situations. Other referrals can also be made. FIT Resource Guide

Title I Each year Blissfield Elementary School receives Title I subsidies from the Federal Government to help ensure student success in the core subject areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. In order to qualify for these subsidies, there are various guidelines we must adhere to. One such requirement is to have a compact/contract for each student enrolled. This compact/contract needs to be discussed by parents, students and teachers. The Student/Teacher/Parent Compact is intended to remind us of the important contribution each of us must provide to ensure the success of our students. Please read and discuss the contents of this contract with your child. Although the statements may seem somewhat obvious, it is important that we continually emphasize the importance of education with our children. Although your child may not always acknowledge your involvement, please do not lose sight of the profound influence you have in his/her success. Periodically reviewing these items may help reaffirm with your child that you value his/her daily efforts in school. BFEE Blissfield Foundation for Educational Excellence The Blissfield Foundation for Educational Excellence ...dedicated to the enhancement of Blissfield public school education. Thanks to the support and generosity of individuals, businesses, and organizations, the Foundation remains deeply engaged in its mission for educational excellence. Please direct all of your B.F.E.E. questions and comments to us through this email: bfee@blissfieldschools.us BFEE Marks Decade of Educational Excellence In 1993, a handful of volunteers envisioned an organization focused on enhancing the educational experience of Blissfield Community Schools. Ten years and nearly $500,000 later, the Blissfield Foundation for Educational Excellence proudly looks back over a decade of enhancing and supplementing learning opportunities for students, staff, and the community. Mini Grant Awards The Teacher Mini-Grants Program continues to be a primary focus for the Foundation. The Program offers a once a year opportunity for teachers to apply for educational enrichment programs and projects beyond the school budget. A pottery wheel and kiln, drum kits, foreign exchange, video equipment, virtual dissection programs, and stage risers are only a few of the nearly $100,000 awarded to date. Special Projects The Foundation accomplishes its mission by funding major projects. At the Foundation's onset, the Blissfield Environmental Life Lab (B.E.L.L.) received nearly $130,000 in Foundation funding. Today, the Foundation fittingly marks its anniversary with the community-wide development of the $600,000 Blissfield Community Sports Park. BFEE Mission and Goals Statement of Mission It shall be the mission of the Blissfield Foundation for Educational Excellence to acquire and distribute resources to the Blissfield Community Schools for programs and projects which enhance and supplement learning opportunities for students, staff, and community. Goals The Foundation will achieve its mission by directing support toward the following goals: I. To promote student development. a. Provide resources for additional educational enrichment activities. b. Provide resources for unique student learning needs. II. To encourage employee creativity and excellence. a. Support unique staff development opportunities for all employees. b. Provide resources for innovative ideas and creative program. III. To encourage school/community partnerships. a. Promote community awareness about the Foundation and educational programs of the School District. b. Provide a vehicle for individuals and organizations to contribute resources to enhance learning. c. Provide an organization to facilitate cooperative ventures among the Foundation, community organizations, businesses and industry. d. Promote unity throughout the School District and community. IV. Provide for instructional technology. V. To promote the School District as a center for community learning.
