Hello BES Families – Welcome Back!

The Blissfield Elementary School staff and I are excited to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. We hope you are looking forward to a fantastic year of growth and learning as we are eager to provide a challenging and exciting educational experience for our students.

BES staff will host our Elementary Open House on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Please come and meet your teachers and support staff. Parents are welcome to bring school supplies at this time as well as take some school photos in the main hallway. There will be a Welcome Back display located there.

The 1st day of school for DK-5 is Monday, August 28, 2023. This will be a full day of school
(7:45-2:52). The elementary building will be open at 7:35 for students to enter. As we are sure you are aware, we have a brand-new paved parking lot with added space and a new traffic pattern. All drivers will need to be patient while we all get used to the flow. Reminder that the curb is for quick drop off of students in the morning. Drivers are not allowed to exit their cars. Staff members will be out in front to assist with doors and students. If you need to walk in with your student, please park and walk to the main entrance.

We will be making a schedule change this year that will affect our Developmental Kindergarten and Kindergarten students. We will be having our DK students join our Kindergarten students during specials. This will allow our teachers to have a common planning time. Thank you for understanding.

Parents need to update their student and parent information in the student portals in Infinite Campus. The updates will need to be completed by September 30, 2023. Please visit blissfieldmi.infinitecampus.org to view, update or make changes to your student registration file.

To ensure student and staff safety, BES will continue our buzz-in system at the main doors of the building. All other entrances will be locked throughout the school day. Upon entrance, visitors will be directed to the office front window.

Please take the opportunity to review our BES Student Handbook on our BCS website. You will find helpful information concerning, among other things, our attendance policy, dress code, transportation policy and discipline policy. If you have any questions, please contact the elementary office at 517-486-2811.

On behalf of the Blissfield Elementary School staff, welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. We are looking forward to partnering with you to make this the best year possible.

Yours in Education

Linda Mueller
